Just wanted to share some things I read online on a weekly basis.

Yesterday Anders and I cycled out to the frozen ocean. It can be worth a venture into the cold even if the skies have been light grey all day. Out in this side of Amagerstrand there are small villages with even smaller houses that people in the city use to escape. It is the perfect place to be in the summer, right by the ocean with all your summer flowers and the freshest air… oh how I miss the sun!
Today we’re off to Ikea to pick up our new couch! Then we’ll be cooking dinner for Anders’ father since he’s driving us… we’re thinking confit de canard. And for dessert I’m making an adaptation of my friend Josh’s parsnip cake, who works at Noma’s Nordic Food Lab. It looks absolutely delicious!
Copenhagen Fashion Week/Festival is in full swing! Later on this week I will stop by some local shops that are throwing competitions and sales just to see what’s happening with my favorite brands. Since I haven’t attended any runway shows, I’m fortunate enough to have a front-row seat right at my desk! Here are some of my favorite SS13 collections so far… I am absolutely bonkers about Designers Remix and Wood Wood’s collection, the colors and cuts are stunning, I’d wear all of it. What are you looking forward to fashion-wise this Spring/Summer?
Layervault posted this great article about a big change happening within design. I am personally a fan of flat design versus skeuomorphic as a learning UI/UX designer, and so wanted to share another’s perspective on the matter. Another thing I stumbled upon recently is like a reddit for designers and it’s called Designer News, conveniently enough.
This has been a good winter of ‘finds’. First, I found the parka I’ve been looking for all my life. Second, I found the biker jacket I’ve been looking for. And it’s faux leather! I went into Zara to look around and lo and behold it shouted my name. As I tried it on I noticed I had no complaints… which is a first for me. One thing about leather jackets (faux or real) is that I always have trouble with the sleeve-length, they’re always a little too short for my liking. Maybe I have monkey long arms. But this biker jacket has a superb length, just below the wrists, and the entire piece has such awesome quilted detailing. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.
