For many of my friends and family back home, you might wonder how I get around Copenhagen. By bus or metro? Sometimes. But always… by bike! This post is dedicated to my trusty (and sometimes rusty) bicycle. We met by chance one summer morning and have enjoyed one another’s company ever since. Through the rain and snow, and even more rain and snow. I’ve never truly had that “perfect bike”, but I think I’ve finally found one that suits me. It’s only missing a lovely Brooks saddle! In Copenhagen bicycles not only look sharp but serve many purposes: they carry our extra grocery bags home, your drunk friends, and various big items like stupidly large wooden chairs or post packages (both of which I’ve achieved). It’s also super easy to look good while riding a bike, you just need to be prepared for inclement weather. “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”.

Speaking of looking good on bikes, I’ll share with you one of my all-time favorite websites: Copenhagen Cycle Chic. Selfishly I always dream of being featured on this site… but it shows savvy cyclists from around the world, ages 3 to 63. I hope one day it’ll really spark an interest in cycling for my fellow city-dwellers in America. It costs next to nothing, and most importantly, it’s more fun.

Happy cycling 🙂
