This past weekend Finderskeepers threw their design/clothing market at Korsgadehallen. There were tons of sellers with handmade jewellery, big color-block posters, and screen prints galore. My friends Double Standard, WAAITT, My Buemann, and Liv Caroline looked great at their tables. I spotted a cool sweatshirt style leather top from Hide and noticed that soon they’ll have a webshop.
Yippee, another year older!
I’ve been smothered by birthday greetings all day — I feel so loved! I’ll write later about some of the gifts I’ve received :). Today I went to the zoo with my Danish class, it was really cool to see the isbørne og sæler (polar bears and seals) playing around. Afterwards I stopped by the opening of & Other Stories, H&M’s new brand. Their look is killer, I immediately fell in love with these pants and top for Spring:
Now that I’m getting older, my skin is too (ew). I took a little tour around the Kiehl’s store yesterday because I’m looking to restock in my daily cleansing / moisturizing products. I’m running low! And so I thought, why not try something new? My daily routine consisted of iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, Alba Oil-Free Aloe & Green Tea Moisturizer, and Garnier BB Cream. I love them all, but still my skin seems to be super dry. At Kiehl’s I looked for a system that consistently included moisture and was recommended the following products. The woman I chatted with was happy to give me samples, and so far, so good! The Ultra Facial Cleanser is mild but works hard, and the Clearly Corrective serum feels extra light-weight. To top it off, the Damage-Correcting Moisturizer gives my face great coverage and tone, and it already feels more hydrated. The titles of these products sound kinda scary, but I’d rather deeply correct my skin now rather than looking like an old catcher’s mitt when I’m 60!
Just wanted to share some things I read online on a weekly basis.

Wow what a busy week! I got home from Barcelona and immediately took the metro to help Anders’ mother move out, and the following day, we moved in! My body is exhausted from carrying so many boxes. Luckily we were invited to a great party for New Years Eve and were able to relax with new friends and old and plenty of champagne, wine, and fireworks. I took two rolls of film, I’m so eager to see how they will turn out! I am so grateful to my family and friends for contributing to such an amazing 2012… let’s see what the next year has in store for us :).
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2013!
One year ago I attempted to start a blog documenting my life in Denmark but only managed to write a single post. One year wiser with plenty of great experiences, (plus a good 20 minutes of trying to remember my password), I’m back! I wish to share with you all the wonderful things I enjoy here in Scandinavia: food, wine, interior & graphic design, fashion, and everything in between. I’m just a simple American girl learning a new way of life and hope you find inspiration in my posts.
Anyhow, much has happened in my life since this issue of Monocle was published, and I’m happy to admit it’s been a positive ride. Although it’s been a year, I still find myself curled up with a cup of coffee + this survey. It highlights many great aspects of Denmark and reminds me of all the things I still need to explore! As delighted as I was to find this issue last Christmas, I additionally bought their newspaper edition named Alpino. It gave me many ideas for winter get-aways and cozy tips to enjoy the cold weather. And, being that it’s around the Christmas holiday now, what could be better than giving a subscription of Monocle to a loved one?
